  • Most engagements start around 10 hours per week, which provides enough bandwidth for meaningful work without overwhelming your budget. During quieter periods or once systems are established, we might scale down to 5-7 hours weekly. During intense periods—strategic planning, major launches, or crisis management—we might scale up to 15-20 hours. We'll assess and adjust based on workload and priorities.

  • Consultants typically study your organization, deliver recommendations in a report or presentation, and expect you and your team to implement. As your fractional Chief of Staff, I'm embedded in your team, executing alongside you. I don't just tell you what to do—I do the work with you, manage the implementation, and stay until it's complete and sustainable. I'm measured on outcomes, not deliverables.

  • Most clients are organizations with 1-10 employees and or small teams within larger national nonprofits. My clients typically have budgets ranging from $1M to $30M. You're typically past the scrappy startup phase where the founder does everything but not yet large enough to justify multiple full-time C-suite executives. That said, I've worked with smaller organizations facing complex challenges and larger organizations navigating specific transitions or launches.

  • Yes. I work with nonprofits navigating growth, development capacity issues, leadership transitions, or program expansion, and with for-profit companies scaling operations, launching new offerings, or building organizational capacity. The core Chief of Staff skills—strategic execution, project management, leadership support—are valuable in both contexts, though I adapt my approach to the specific culture and constraints of each organization and leader that I support.

  • I'm transparent about my strengths and limitations. If your needs require specialized expertise I don't possess—say, deep technical knowledge in a specific field or industry-specific regulatory knowledge—I'll tell you and can help identify specialists to bring in. I’m also building a collective of fractional professionals across disciplines to build out Relumed’s in-house expertise and reduce your need to bring in more consultants or contractors.

  • I typically work with 2-3 clients simultaneously to ensure each gets focused attention and meaningful progress. Current availability varies based on engagement intensity and timing. The best way to know if I can support you is to schedule a free consultation where we'll discuss your needs, timeline, and whether I have the capacity to take on your engagement.

  • I adapt to your existing tools and systems rather than forcing you to adopt new ones. If you're using Asana, Notion, Monday, or any other project management system, I'll work in that environment. Same with communication tools—Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom—I'm platform agnostic. If you don't have systems in place, I can recommend and implement ones that fit your needs and budget.

  • Expect to invest 2-4 hours weekly with your Chief of Staff—typically a 60-90 minute strategic check-in, quick daily or every-other-day check-ins via email, text, or Zoom (15 minutes), and occasional focused working sessions. This is far less time than you'd spend managing multiple direct reports or coordinating projects yourself. The whole point is to give you back time and mental space, not add to your burden.
